Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the new school year. I am very pleased to have the opportunity to instruct your child in my 7th grade math class. I am fully aware of your devoted commitment to ensure the best education for your child. Students do best when their parents and teacher have high but realistic expectations. Furthermore, our goal will be met if there is regular communication between us concerning your child's progress. Your interest and support are extremely helpful. Please take some time to read and discuss the following course objectives and classroom expectations with your child, sign and return the tear off portion to me.
Course Description:
Throughout this course, students will explore mathematical concepts that are foundational to success in advanced math. Students will analyze proportional relationships and use it to solve real-world mathematical problems. The students will apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers. Students will use properties to generate equivalent expressions; and solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations. They will draw, construct, and describe geometric figures and describe the relationships between them.

Bienvenidos al nuevo ano escolar. Estoy muy contenta de tener la oportunidad de enseñarle a su hijo/hija en mi clase de CCSS Matemáticas. Descripción del curso:
Durante este curso, los estudiantes exploraran los conceptos de matemáticas que son la fundación del éxito en Algebra. Los estudiantes aprenderán como usar los principios básicos de algebra para analizar y representar relaciones proporcionales y no proporcionales. Los estudiantes usaran estrategias de como resolver problemas para modelar patrones y relaciones con variables y funciones, también para construir, dibujar, medir y clasificar figuras geométricas.
